Nikon 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AutoFocus Zoom Nikkor Lens, is made by Nikon. The list price is around US$0.00.
Very pleased that I received exactly what I ordered with full warranty, not a Gray market item. The lens is a great compliment to my Nikon SLR; focus is quick, quiet and sharp. Highly recommend. Price was great.

Nikon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D Autofocus Zoom Nikkor Lens, is made by Nikon.
I would recommend this lens to all D50-D80 users, for the price you get incredible sharp throughout its focal range, macro function is impressive. Also, it is very well constructed nice balance and very light.

Pentax SMCPDA 16-45mm Zoom f/4.0 ED/AL Lens for Pentax and Samsung Digital SLR Cameras, is made by Pentax, Usually ships in 24 hours. The list price is around US$700.00. (*The prices are subject to change) Street price is around $307.25.
I bought this lens instead of the 18-55 mm kit lens and I am very satified with that decision. The images are clear and the colors true. For normal picture you really don't see any distortion. I don't have a good prime lens to compare it to yet, but for general use and walking around this is a very good choice in a mid- to high-end lens. This glass will most likely become my general use lens.

I agonized over the 1.8 and the 1.4 for a few months before I started to notice a pattern. Nearly all of the negative feedback about the 1.4 was coming from amateur to mid-level photographers while nearly all of the praise was coming from mid to pro level photographers. It seemed the lesser learned guys put it down because they couldn't make it perform and praised the 1.8 because it was 'easier' to use. All the pro's I talked to hands down had the 1.4 and not the 1.8.
So this summed it up for me. It may have a longer learning curve--but why buy a lens TWICE! That was something else I noticed. Guys were buying the 1.8 for price but then wishing they had the 1.4. Why buy 2 prime 50's?
I do everything from crawling through brush to photographing my baby daughter with this lens and it blows me away every time. I even sold my Tamron 18-200mm that I got with my D80 to get this so I could start from scratch with solid lenses and work my way up (if money isn't an issue I wouldn't necessarily ...

Canon ET65III Lens Hood for Canon SLR Lens, is made by Canon Cameras US, Usually ships in 24 hours. The list price is around US$30.00. (*The prices are subject to change) Street price is around $23.67.
I've had this hood for a month now and it works exactly as you'd expect it to. It snaps on and off with ease and feels secure enough while attached. I read another review where someone said this fell of their lens into a lake or something but that's really not possible unless YOU don't properly attach it. It does feel a little pricey for a piece of plastic but hey- that's what it costs. If you need it, get it.

Canon EW-60C Lens Hood, is made by Canon Cameras US, Usually ships in 1 to 3 months. (*The prices are subject to change) Street price is around $29.00.
way too expensive (I got a used one, so the damage was not so bad). provides little function. you can do a lot better shading the lens with the back of your hand.
