Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm SLR Camera w/ EF 28-80 II Lens Kit, is made by Canon Cameras US. The list price is around US$389.99.
I was looking for a film 35mm SLR and found this one on Amazon, I love it, I have the Canon Rebel XT and wanted a Canon SLR. I love how the film automatically advances the film and displays how much film you have left, and the speed of the film. I also like this camera because you can set it to AV/TV/M and play with the apertures, and shutter speed, and if you don't want to use these features you can set it to the basic zones where everything is automatic. I am still getting used to the settings but my pictures so far have developed very nicely.

Panasonic DMC-LX2S 10.2MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver), was released on 2006-09-21, is made by Panasonic. The list price is around US$499.99.
Great pictures and movies. Easy to handle. Not so good with little light without a flash... my previous old Olympus C2100 was better.

Canon EOS 30D 8.2MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only), is made by Canon. The list price is around US$2100.00.
People can show off their Rebel tsi and say it has 12 megapixels, but you can show off your 30d and say, "mine's not cheap plastic." This camera is perfect for a semi-pro, student, or just about anyone who can afford it. I warn you not to buy it from DBROTH though. They scammed me out of 99.99 dollars worth of photoshop, and I'm still trying to settle it with them. The hi-speed shooting is great for my hobby of shooting skate pictures. I think my customer image is number 82 or something. If you want to use it for landscapes, you'll need to get something with a really wide angle, because of the 1.6 cropping factor. If you're into sports photography like me though, it just gives your telephoto zoom lens a little more reach.

Olympus Camedia C-4000 4MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom, is made by Olympus. The list price is around US$599.99.
If you're reading this because you're considering purchasing this camera, my advice is DON'T....there are much better cameras available for the money. I have owned this camera for about 8 months now, and though it does take good pictures, sharp and clear, it does have a lot of drawbacks.... 1) The lens cap falls off continuously, and it is just quite frankly, almost impossible to keep it on. 2) The shutter delay makes catching the exact shot you want almost impossible, I've used this in concerts and by the time the shutter snaps, the moment is gone. For me, it is really SLOW. 3) The red eye reduction simply does not reduce red eye. This camera seems actually worse for having red eye than some cheaper point and shoot cameras. 4) It is not the most intuitive camera I've had. I owned a Kodak 3400 before this, and it was much more intuitive. Olympus spends more time in the instructions telling you how to attach the lens cover cap to the camera than they spend telling you how the menus work....

Canon PowerShot S400 4MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom, is made by Canon. The list price is around US$449.99.
Have had this for 3 years. Worked great. Recently dropped it in the Colorado river and it still survived. So decided to write a review :) Camera does take great pictures and is very handy. Battery life is about 2 years and then you need to replace them.

I just got my camra today! It's the cutest thing ever. It's smaller than the rest of the camra's on the market. The 4.0 mega pix is a plus too! WOW I love it. It's smaller than my cell phone. You should get it too!

Olympus C-8080 8MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Wide Zoom, is made by Olympus. The list price is around US$799.99.
My background in photography extends back to my high school days in 1976, through selling cameras professionally for 6 years in retail post high school, and then later after college taking wedding photos with a Hasselblad and pro lighting for a few years 'on the side.'
In 2002, I sold all of my film-cameras, and went digital with an Olympus C-3020 to start (a 3.2 mega-pixel camera). In 2004, I upgraded to a C-8080 and bought a 2-gig card and extra battery. In 2005, I purchased an E-300 Olympus, and both are 8 mega-pixel cameras. The battery is exactly the same, so now I have three batteries and two chargers. Staying in the Olympus family made the transition to new menues very easy, and when my wife takes the C-8080 (recently on a trip to China) I have the E-300 to use with additional lenses.
I am very happy with the image quality of the C-8080, and with a 2-gig card, this unit can hold just over 1,000 high quality photograps, making vacation and family photography enjoyable and al...

Fujifilm FinePix S7000 6.3 MP Digital Camera w/ 6x Optical Zoom, was released on 2003-10-31, is made by FUJIFILM. The list price is around US$799.99.
The fact that this Fuji Finepix S7000 came out nearly four years ago and is still so highly regarded give one an idea of its good qualities. It is ergonomic - the fingers and thumb find the zoom, AE lock, flash, exposure compensation, viewfinder/LCD toggle without much struggle. The viewfinder is excellent - detailed and has as much info as you could want.
It eats up standard AA batteries, so get some NiCads, NiMetalhydride, or some other type of rechargeable. But they are a good point - available everywhere. I have read that the early models produced have had the problem of the CF card running down the four AA batteries when the CF card is left in the camera between shoots. So, it is a good practice to remove the CF card after using it (it is menu selected as to using the CF or the Fuji xD card). Otherwise you will pick up the camera one day with the CF card in it and find the batteries drained.
Later production may not have this problem. The camera was designed to use the IBM mini d...

Remanufactured Minolta Dimage Z1 3.2MP Digital Camera w/ 10x Optical Zoom, is made by Minolta. The list price is around US$499.99.
I bought this camera a couple of years ago, and had problems with the auto focus. About a year ago the battery cover wouldn't close all the way due to a broken tab in the cheesy cover. Well I just sent it in to be repaired, and guess what they want $150 to fix it. That's almost half the price of the camera for a 10 cent item and probably all of 15 minutes to fix. I won't be getting it fixed (I'll tape it shut), and I won't ever buy another camera from Minolta. Let the buyer beware. Stay away from Minolta unless you like spending your money on repairs.
