Garmin nüvi 650 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator from Garmin. The list price is around US$749.99.
This is an outstanding GPS that I bought for my mother for Christmas last year. I've owned the the Nuvi 350 for years and as long as they continue to offer maps for it, I will not upgrade b/c it's that good. The 650 basically is the same but with a wide screen. I'm not going to further review the product since I purchased it as a gift but I felt compelled to post a review when I saw the price of this unit compared to my last year's purchase. I bought the same "new" unit last year for $198.00 and I see that this year it is selling for $499.00. I've also noticed the Nuvi 350 is being sold for $359.00 when last year it was sold for $159.00. Granted, mine was purchased directly from Amazon, LLC. and these are being sold by third parties but for those who may be price conscious, it may be of value to know that these are actually Garmin's older units. They were first introduced when I purchase my Nuvi 350 four years ago. There are newer Garmin units for half the price. As good as this unit is, I would eit...

Garmin nüvi 260 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator from Garmin. The list price is around US$482.13.
I had the Nuvi 260 model for about 1.5 years, maybe 2, really happy with it, and accurate maps even in some of the backwater parts of MN, but last month I was using it to get down to Chicago O'Hare airport, no problem, I collected my passenger, then tried to switch the unit on for the return trip - dead. Even though the charging light had been on from the cigarette lighter the whole journey down and was still on now, the unit was completely dead. It's never worked again. This is completely unacceptable in a GPS/satnav device since you could be out in the middle of nowhere and then be completely lost. Fortunately I could make my way back once I'd got on I94 due to reasonable signs, but if I was back in MN in the backroads - I'd have been completely stuffed. With no moving parts, and no accidents happening to it this should NEVER happen with solid-state electronics. I bought a Magellan Roadmate 1440 when I got back, and will never buy anything from Garmin again. Avoid.

Garmin nüvi 200W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator from Garmin. The list price is around US$535.70.
I bought a refurb Garmin 200w and returned it to Garmin because it would take over half an hour to acquire satellites. However, their replacement unit (which came with the wrong maps) is just as bad. I will not buy another Garmin GPS.

Garmin nuvi 200 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator from Garmin. The list price is around US$419.98.
I was surpised at how easy it is to use the Garmin. It proved its worth last week
when we had a lot of traveling from one location to another on Long Island N.Y. and there were Nor'Easters on two days so we could not see the exit signs. The Garmin made it very easy to know when we coming up to the exist and especially when to stay to the left or right lanes.
Ocasionally it would get confused and give us invalid directions. Yesterday when traveling from my house to my cousin's house in Eastern Mass., at distance of 31 miles, the GPS could not get the satellite and thought that we were still in the Bronx, N.Y.

Garmin nüvi 360 3.5-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Text-To-Speech, was released on 2008-10-04 from Garmin. The list price is around US$279.99.
Great device to get you where you want to go. One of the best GPS devices on the market. My only complaint is that the included car cord fell apart shortly after one year.

Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator from Garmin. The list price is around US$329.99.
You can't buy this (new) from Garmin anymore but if you happen to find one at a yard sale at a used price ... Grab it!! It doesn't have Blue tooth, lifetime traffic updates and a LOT of the features on Garmins web site aren't compatible with it. But what it does do is get you from point "A" to point "B" JUST AS GOOD, if not BETTER than anything else on the market. It also has up to 8(eight) hours of battery life so if you want to use the "pedestrian" mode you van do so for up to 8(eight) hours. The battery is also pretty darn good too, since mine is going on 5 years old and still has at least 6 hours (the longest I've used it on battery power) of "juice to power it. I could go into a lot of technical reasons why this gps, if you can find one, would be worth SERIOUS consideration but most buyers are interested in "whistles and bells" like traffic updates and blue tooth and the fact that todays units only have a max battery life of 5 hours don't concern them. But 8 hours if your into Geocaching might be worth ...

Xbox 360 Core Console [Old Version], was released on 2005-11-15 from Microsoft. The list price is around US$199.99.

3 choices for the next generation game consoles:
1) XBox 360
2) PlayStation 3
3) Nintendo Wii

For hardcore gamers, it probably be either XBox 360 or PS3, for everyone else Wii is the way to go.

I'm not a big fan of console games, most of my games are PC based. At one point, they had better graphics than any console games. I'm not sure that's true anymore. Not to mention that a good PC based game system is more expensive than any console on the market (even the new PS3).

So I was thinking about buying a console. Before, I thought it would be either PS3 or XBox 360, because I thought Nintendo was only for kids. But after seeing their innovative Wii controls, I'm totally impressed. They did it this time. The most impressive roll out for a video game console. Even complaints like
broken plasma TV sounds more positive th...

Canon EOS Rebel 2000 35mm SLR Camera Kit with 28-80mm Lens from Canon Cameras US. The list price is around US$440.99.
Purchased for $180 back in Nov 2003, I fell in love with the easy to use Canon Rebel 2000 and together we learned about photography. The autofocusing points help to guide the photographer and the various photo modes expand the abilities of this tough little camera. From close ups of flowers and butterflies to a night football game loaded with action to serene still portraits, the Rebel does a great job of helping the amateur shutterbug take great pictures.

There were some concerns about the construction of its body, but the Rebel and I have been to the beach, dog park, camping, playgrounds, hiking, ball games, horseback riding (galloping!), and more - and it has completely held up well with the swinging, banging, and action of use.

I've made the switch to the Canon Digital Rebel XTi and a pocket sized Canon PowerShot Elph, but while the instant gratification of the digital era is nice, the best capturing of the light and mood, which is usually the distinction between a good photo and a ...

Canon EOS Elan 7ne 35mm SLR Camera Kit with 28-105mm Lens from Canon Cameras US. The list price is around US$899.99.
Okay, first off, I'd like to say that this is my first AF SLR--I stepped up from my dinosaur of a camera, Canon AE-1 manual focus, and right now I am quite overwhelmed by all the features in this little thing. I'm still in the learning stages of all this technology but let me tell you this, I am having fun! It amazes me that Canon can offer quite an impressive camera for the price.

I just received my first few rolls from the developer and the pictures came out amazing--so clear and the colors are very vibrant. Just to let you know, I'm using the 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens. I took the suggestions of many and passed up on the "kit" lens and I'm sure glad I did so. I would highly recommend the f/3.5-4.5 lens, but unfortunately for the rest of you, Amazon has discontinued it. But you could order it from one of the many other photo shops (B&H, Adorama, etc).

Do I have any regrets on this purchase? Absolutely not! I love this camera and even though I've owned it for less than a mo...
