Immediately I noticed that the Mega Bass did not put out any bass at all. Within one week I returned the CFD-S350 and bought the CFD-G500. It cost me $40 more, but it was well worth it. If you desire a lot of bass, then don't waste your money on the CFD-S350. The CFD-G500 is a super deal at $99. Stereo 4-inch speakers are augmented by a third, 4-inch Power Drive Woofer, all driven by a powerful 20 watts RMS total. The unit's CD player uses a one-bit digital-to-analog audio converter with 8x oversampling for pristine sound, and audio CD-R/CD-RW compatibility means the boombox will play your home-brewed music mixes as well as prerecorded CDs. The CFD-G500's digital AM/FM stereo tuner offers 30 station presets (20 FM, 10 AM). Four electronic sound modes (rock/pop/jazz/vocal) let you tailor the sound for listening to various different types of music or in different environments, while the unit's unique Power Drive settings (off, 1, and 2) enhance low-frequencies in any sound mode. A cool red light atop the device indicates PDW-on status.
